For me it's 3-4 days before or after....but I really pay more attention to the pressure than the moon.

castan, when i was night fishin' up on norfork for bass i always tried to be there 3 days before the full moon and fish all the way through and 3 days after the full moon. to me that seemed the better times than the dark of the moon.

I have kept a hunting/fishing log for over 40 years. Date, "Where & with "who", "weather conditions" and "what thing", and "how". I have 7, 3 inch ring binders filled. Sometimes I sketch in a map of the event - hot spots. Its interesting to note how patterns form yearly for fishing and up & down year cycles - where to be when for the best fish bite. I have salt & fresh water fished in many places, Alaska, NWT, C, Costa Rica, most of the states and hunted in these area's also. Its fun reading, now that I am a senior, and no longer hunt, but still fish - limited.

castan, i didn't keep one for duck hunting either but i can remember a lot of the good days even way way back when i first started around age 14 when we used live decoys. yes, live decoys. it was outlaw city where i hunted back then. it wasn't limits. it was toe sacks full. and i had it to do over i wouldn't change a thing. why is it that memories like that are very vivid and i can't remember yesterday hardly?
