    Default slow and small(lake conway)

caught 6 keepers at lake conway yesterday. the fishin was slow and the fish were small. I thought there would have been a better bite than that! the water looks good, and the shad are still there!

I went Sunday to Gold Creek. Caught 2 Crappie both over 11" and 1 Yellow Bass. I only saw one bank fisherman catch one decent fish shallow.

What about the water clarity. I crossed Gold Creek on the way to Little Rock Tuesday and the water looked like chocolate milk! Is it back to normal this quick? Thanks and thanks for the report.

Got home from work this afternoon around 12:30 and read Dan's post about the 2 guys with 12 fish. Told the wife it looked like the weather was gonna get nasty so I was goin fishin. When I left it was raining and I didnt wan to get my tackle bag wet so I tossed it in the truck.

Motored down the creek towards the pool and there was a fellow jigging some brush. I shut my motor off and trolled around him, not wanting to mess him up. Well I guess I did alright because while I was trolling by he caught one. Decided to fish the creek because the wind was calm there. After 30 min or so I decided to try another color, only to fine I had left my bag n the truck!!! I was to cold to make the trip back and forth so I just used my 1 jig. lol wound up leaving bout 4-4:30 no fish but I enjoyed the trip.

P.S. Sometimes I dont want to fish with myself but I have no choice! Who leaves the tackle n the truck???!!!

Don't feel bad about that. I have gotten all the way to Don's place and realized I have left my minnow bucket at home. Another time, I got there and realized I had left all my rods at home. Don sold me one cheap and now I keep it in the boat at all times. I've left the fish finder at home... That's about all I'm willing to admit to.

Are there still a bunch of gulls hanging around the pool area?? This cold snap might slow down the crappie bite a little. Looking forward to a couple of good sunny milder days.

The gulls are still there eating shad. I haven't been to that side of the lake n forever so I don't know if there were as many as a few weeks ago or not
