Default One More Newbie (fishing Lake Maumelle?!?)

I can't really say that I am totally new here. I've got a garage full of green fluorescent lights, line-counter reels, jig poles and assorted other equipment proving that I've been reading your excellent posts on nightstalks, spiderrigging, trolling Bandits and other techniques for several years. My wife says I am, shall we say, heavily invested.

The good Lord and my wife both willing, I've got about 12-15 years before I retire and move away from Little Rock. In the meantime, my goal is to learn how to catch more crappie from Lake Maumelle. Once I learn where on Lake Maumelle the crappie actually hit series 300 Tennessee shad Bandits spiderrigged at 1.3 mph at night under a green light on a 14 foot jig pole with a line-counter reel, I will post pictures and reports. Until then, I look forward to getting to know you on Greers Ferry, Ouachita, Cane Creek, Nimrod and other such less challenging bodies of water.

Redbeard if you are on Greers and see a tan pontoon with red stripe using 20' rods pulling cranks come over and say hello.

Welcome from Bryant. Maumelle. I can catch bass there but the Crappie is kicking my butt. I have never tried crankbaits. Going to have to look into this. Thanks. Is the green light much better than a clear one?
