    Default Lake Greeson in March

My son & I are planning a trip to Greeson with some family members around March 11. I think we are staying at the Daisy Motel. We live in Missouri and this will be our first trip there. I am wanting to know if anyone can let us know what to expect and maybe what kind of tackle we need to bring (Do we need 10 ft poles?). I think some of us might hire a guide the first day, but any tips on where to go would be great also. Thanks for the help.

Call Jerry Blake (Lake Greeson Arkansas Fishing Guide Hot Springs Crappie Fishing Charter Trip) or Darryl Morris (Hot Springs Arkansas Family Fishing Trips Guide Service with Darryl Morris). One of these guys will show you around Greeson and will even allow you to bring your gps and mark the spots. They are very active members on this site.

I second bobberwatchers suggestion. I've fished with them both. If you haven't already done so, you should contact them soon cause they can get booked that time of year. You might also ask them about places to stay. In my opinion, they always give good advice.

    Hope you catch a bunch.

    Hey Buckskin:

Welcome to Crappie.com. As has been mentioned, I guide on Lake Greeson and I'll be happy to point you in the right direction whether or not you wish to hire a guide. The crappie will likely be in transition in early March. If we get a good warm spell there will be some black crappie scouting in the shallows but we'll probably be doing most of our fishing in 12 to 20-feet of water and fishing 8 to 15-feet deep but that all depends on the weather and water temps.

I would definitely recommend the long-poles - 10 and 11-foot are all I use for crappie.

My calendar is getting filled for March but the first week is still open and I can book you with another guide if I'm not available on the date you need. You can check our calendars here - FISHING CALENDARS.

Here's what we did on the 2nd and 3rd of March last year:
