Thanks cricket. Not sure how long those coated deck screws will last under the water. I do have several piles that have been under for 3 years and still standing. Well see if they make it another year.

I don't understand how the boo stays in the pvc. Can you update with a "finished" picture?

Lrjoe when I get to the drop zone I'll put the boo into the PVC and run a coated deck screw through the PVC and boo.
Looks like extra work. If you use much bamboo it won't be enough weight to sink. Why not just concrete the bamboo in. Then tie up bamboo to shrink size. Right before tossing in cut the cord and let the bamboo spread back out. That is the way we have tried it. You can carry several at a time this way.

I was thinking the same thing as Nimrod. 25 pounds is half of what I normally use, and I've had a few that would still float.

I've never had any trouble sinking 10 sticks with 25 pds. I have no doubt that there are other ways to sink brush, but this is the way that works best for me.
I really like that idea. Can make at home and have them ready to go when I get ready.

How long is the boo that you normally use? It looks to me that if you had boo that was so large in diameter that is wouldn't fit in your pvc then it might float it. Your way is a great idea. Filling a bucket up with mud and boo would probably cover a larger area. I am gonna try and use your idea for shallower spots and sink the larger ones in deeper areas. Love the ideas keep um coming! My new years resolution is to put something in the water to fish around

What size PVC are you using and how tall boo are you putting out? Thx.

Depends on how tall you want the brush pile. One inch will get you roughly 8 to 15 ft tall. 3/4 inch will get you 5 to 12 ft tall pile. Depending on the boo.
