    Default Cold weather gear

The older I get, the harder it is to take this winter time fishing. I've heard about a suit called Arctic Armor. I know its expensive, but if it will keep me fishing in the winter temp. of 20 to 25 it would worth it to me. I'm not sure they make anything that would help this week. Do any of you know about or use Arctic Armor?

Seen it advertised kinda expensive. I use Under Armor 3, sold at BPS. Got the whole outfit for what they want for AA coat. Use it in conjunction with insulated bib coveralls and My Heavy huntin coat and I worked outside all mornin in 15 degree waether and almost got hot.

I have the Arctic Armor. So far, I really like it. It will also float you if you fall in---of course, that won't keep you from freezing to death when you get out.

Question for the cold weather fishermen and women

When fishing this cold, do you have to worry bout your outboards after trailering them or motoring then drifting or using TM? Does the water freeze inside the motor and do damage?

Just wondering as the coldest Ive fished is bout 35*

    Default outboards

Outboard motors are designed to drain when you pull them out of the water. With that being said I myself like to start the motor once out of the water for 1/2 a second trimmed all the way down to blow any remaining water from the lower unit.

Outboards - if leaving motor in the water overnite, lift up the mtr and leave the water drain out first and then its OK to let the motor (set-down) in the water, which is better than leaving it up out of the water. Dressing warm - don't need expensive clothing but you do need to layer dress. N/WI. where its cold, very cold, 6 months a year.
