    Default Grand Lake - Eudora

New to the board here. I fish back home in LA a bit and am looking for some general information about fishing Grand Lake near Eudora. We've hunted in the area for years and have never really tried the fishing on Grand but I finally am set to give it a go this fall. Any general information on fishing Grand from October-April (primarily wintertime for white perch/catfish) would be helpful.

It's a very high quality Crappie lake. You might want to hit the "Search This Forum" tab on the Right side of the Arkansas Forum page and type in Grand Lake for threads pertaining to Grand. That should give you lots of info about what they like in that lake and when they are biting. BTW, Welcome to the forum from Monticello.... When you say "back home in LA" do you mean "Lower Arkansas" or Louisiana? There are lots of folks on here who can point you to the Crappie in this area. I mainly fish Grand Lake, Washington, Lee, Darbonne, Lake Monticello and lots of smaller potholes up and down the Miss and Ark rivers.

From Shreveport. Thanks for the help. I searched a bit and found limited info. I'll do some more research on Grand around the site. Are brush piles legal in Grand?

i don't know if they are legal or not but there are a few around the docks in the south end placed there by the locals...if you want to try it now, try starting in the deepest water which will be right at the ramp in front of the white house and the pink boat house..try slow trolling or vertical jigging jigs or shiners around this area...they like to hang out in or near the deeper water this time of year...blk/chart is a good color to start with...there are some good slabs in this lake..it's just a matter of finding them...good luck

I figured deep water would be the ticket this time of year. I've found lots of information for this time of year, but wintertime info is still hard to come by. That's mainly what I'm after since I spend most of my time in the area around hunting season into early spring. Right now I'll probably spend my first outings slow trolling trying to cover some water and learn the lake. I think the lake will fish similar to other oxbows I've fished before. I'll probably start on the west side of the lake off the boat docks and take it from there. Thanks for the info.

    That'll work. Good plan!
