    Default Bandits on Greer's

Crappie pro and I went to Greer's late yesterday afternoon for his first run with the Bandits. The bite was kind of slow but we still managed to catch 9 crappie, a few bass, and a pretty nice cat before dark. Russ was going back at daylight this morning so we'll see how the morning bite is. It was nice to be out and it not be so darn hot. I had 2 problems or I would have had more fun. My depth finder wouldn't turn on and my back running light wouldn't turn on either.......oh well....it's always something.

I use a fairly large snap swivel so I can easily switch baits.

Hey Slab...I use the big motor....40hp 4-stroke....according to my gps at idle it moves me between 2-2 1/2 mph depending on wind, waves, ect. I like to use the big motor because I can tighten up the tiller handle so it won't turn easy and it's almost like having auto pilot plus I can get the boat stopped quickly if I get a hang up.

Tory I see you got some Okuma Linecounter reels and some BnM trolling rods. How do you like the rods? The jury is still out for me and the BnM:rolleyes:.

Hi Wayne....I'm like you, the jury is still out but so far so good. I do worry that they may be a little too delicate but the price was right (free) so I'm certainly going to use them but time will tell....on another note I wanted to get you over here this spring to jig the brush for some shallow Brewer slabs during the spawn like we talked about but the rains and high water ruined it for me and I never could get to them....oh well maybe next year....just wanted you to know that I didn't forget. :D

No problem I did fairly well on Greer's this spring. I fished all last year with the Wally Marshall rods that were stolen in the spring and did not break one. I have broken 3 BnM's already this year. 1 was my fault the other 2 I don't think should have broken. You remember how I would get a crank unhung last year with the Wally Marshall's, you can't do that with the BnM.
