Went to charge up my TM battries today and found my 24 v trolling moter doesn't respond. I think it has committed suiside. I have a spare 12 v TM that is transom mounted. Is there any way that you guys know of converting the transom mounted TM to fit the bow mount? I kind of doubt it because the shaft rotates when you turn the head so a bow mount would pinch it making it imovable. Any ideas or am I confined to fish the back of the boat till I can afford a new bow mount? Tight lines

Could be a switch problem or lose connection, did you check and see ?
i would check the power all the way to under the head to make sure it is not just a switch or breaker fuse or just a bear wire. on the bow mount. Make sure you have 24v. up front. might be loose wire,
check prices on e bay and some pawn shops sell them for cheap.
just use the clamp to clamp your transome mount to your bow troll motor plate
and just use the thumb screw to raise it up for running and lower to fish.
Like what they said about all connections. I've a ranger and it has a breaker for the trolling motor, located above the battery department.

Man, I'd check all my switches and I'd also search the wiring (especially the hot wire) for a blown fuse. I volt meter will do the trick for you. Also, if you're hard wired into your boat's fuse box, be sure and check it out, as well.
One other thing. IF you're hard-wired, your wiring could be grounded where it goes through a metal crossmember etc.
Wishin' you the best on this deal. I know it can be frustrating.

Thanks guys. I'll check when the swelling in my hand goes down. When I reached in to connect the charger a big ole red wasp nailed me on the thumb. Now my hand is swolen all the way to my elbow. Likely take a day or two for it to pass.

Whatchadoin' thar flyflinger....typin' with one finger??:D:D need wasp spray? my grand daddy used those wasp larvae fer fishbait!!![]()
Well after hours of troubleshooting the tm, finally gave up, pulled it off the boat. Clamped on my spare 12v motor on the stern. Heading over to the Bull today to try it out. Going to pull some deep crank baits for crappie and walleye. I have no idea if the motor will push the boat fast enough to troll but 1.2 mph should not be too difficult. Deep water over in the Howard's creek area. I'll let you know how it works out. Tight lines.
