On Amazon , I’ll pick out a few rods or reels I’m interested in and put them in my wish list . I’ll keep an eye on them because their prices do go up and down. It’s a waiting game .
We just went through a period where prices were down . They’ve mostly gone back up .
I’ll usually compare prices with Digitaka .
Amazon Japan takes 10-14 days to arrive, sometimes a little longer.
I’m thinking since you’re fishing around staked beds you’re fishing from a boat .
Are you casting and twitching back to you or vertical jigging ?
Fishing around structure you may want to go with braid with a 4# Fluorocarbon leader .
My newest addition is a TFO Pastime Trout and Panfish . It’s a nice rod , made in the USA , with a lifetime warranty.
I’ve only had it out one day for a couple hours , but I’m liking it with 2# P-Line Floroclear line . I’m getting casts with a 1/64th jighead around 60’ and it seems to be a nice sensitive rod . I also own their Trout and panfish II .
I going to be setting it up the similar to the Pastime to see if it’s worth the extra $150 .
I also own several St Croix rods that I enjoy fishing with .
Most of my JDM rods I’ve bought for less than $150 . I don’t own any of the more expensive ones .
One about JDM rods is , once you bought it , it’s yours . I’m sure there’s some kind of warranty that comes with them but getting replacements would be too much of a hassle for me . Just my opinion.
I’m not sure which Avids you have , but the 6’6” light is a favorite of mine. I also have them in the Premier and Triumph series .
The Avid is the sweetest , because of its lighter weight .
But they all fish jigs better than the 6’6” in an UL versions .
Now that I’ve confused you totally, Good luck finding your new rod .
