Hi all, just want to share how glad I am to finally, after many many years of putting it off, purchased my first GOOD American domestic rod. Not that my soon to be retired Berkeley Lightning Rod and a Shakespeare micro UL were not serving me well for last 15 or so years. They have been tough and durable but St Croix is something else when comes to built and beauty, not to mention lightness and sensitivity. I like to shout out to folks like Gillchaser, moonrunner, and Scud-muffin who were really pleased with these rods and spoke highly of them to somehow help me shed my doubts..,lol. But one must walk before starting to run I didn’t want to jump in both feet to the Legend or even the Avid series, so I decided on this 2020 SC Triumph in 5-6 UL to fish along side some JDM rods I picked up over last 2 years. It’s intended use are many as St Croix classified it as saltwater safe!! And because a few here recommended a softer action rod for throwing micro cranks I decided the Triumph is the perfect rod for money spent. Here’s some pictures!
