Hello all,
I have been following these ultralight threads for a while now, but wanted to say hello and ask for opinions. Hey all.

I just dipped my toes into the JDM world and frankly, don't seem to know quite as much as I assumed. I might have purchased the wrong reel for my ultralight set-up and am hoping that I can simply swap since it is a nice reel regardless.

I have three light spinning rods and three spinning reels. I am not quite so certain that I made the best pairing.

Rod 1: St. Croix Panfish 8' Light ExF that I have been using for inline spinners. I find it too long for stream use, so mostly still water.
Rod 2: Tict Minimalism Liberte 6'2" XUL Fast travel rod (new this year). I am hoping to use it for shallow streams and general pond-fishing.
Rod 3: I will be replacing a St. Croix Eyecon 7'6" ML ExF rod with a GLoomis GLX drop-shot rod this spring. I use this for small bass primarily and it is also too long for streams.

Reel 1: Vanford F1000 (currently paired with StCroix Panfish)
Reel 2: Shimano Soare XR C2000-SSPG (the reel I thought would work with the Tict rod, but its heavier and slow)
Reel 3: Shimano Stradic Ci4+ 1000 size (currently paired with StCroix Eyecon and soon to pair with the Gloomis rod).

The Soare is 2g heavier than the Vanford, with a higher line capacity, but has a shallow spool, which might be what I want with the ultralight rod.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated and here's looking forward to warmer fishing weather.

Greg
