A new reel is in the future. I currently have a Daiwa Revros LT 1000 with new Varivas Ester 2.3# on it and a Shimano Nasci 1000 with Trout SOS 2#. Probably going with a Daiwa Ballastic or Luvias, but have to cash in a lot of soda bottles first.

That Ester is trying my patience.

The SUL will not be a broom handle so don't set the hook like a champ, let the soft tip and action do the work for you. Sharp hooks help and the rod bend will show off nicely on hard pulling Panfish.
