Epic day below Normandy Dam today!! I netted over 130 trout. Had 4 brood trout that went 20....18...18....and 17 inches. Many of the trout were at the 13 inch mark. Used a Bison colored Trout Magnet on a 1 gram Daiwa Gekkabijin jig head #10 hook. Rod was Abu Garcia UL Diplomat Extreme 6' 2" Horizontal Area Trout Rod with solid tip. Reel was Daiwa Ballistic FW LT 1000S-P spooled up with 2.3# test polyester with diameter .105mm. Had a section of FC leader with diameter of .117mm. I also used the Daiwa Iprimi XXUL today with some 7/10 gram spoons. Had to put it away as Normandy is eating my spoons. If you are looking for a rod that gives an insane amount of fun this is it. Had several 13 inch trout on the Iprimi.....while the battle was epic the rod really protects the 2.3# test ester. The trout were crushing the spoons. Landing trout this large on 2.3# test polyester line...in current.....is very hard to do. This was a day that goes in the memory bank’s for sure.
