My Corto Nuevo Prototype has tiny guides but I plan to use the smaller diameter 3lb Varivas Advanced Trout line with this rod. Will this line work with my Corto or was this rod specifically designed for PE? All my other JDM rods have both nylon and PE ratings.

Don’t know which model you have but seems the 8 foot ML is designed for PE line use.....the others have a max line rating.
