Thread: JDM rods relating to Panfish

Had a great evening fishing the the Abu Garcia Eradicator Slow Taper Special. It just reaffirmed what my thoughts were on this rod....it is simply fantastic! The Gills did not cooperate but I got into about 3 dozen crappie stacked on nothing more than a small branch in about 8 feet of water. Using a 1 gram Daiwa Gekkabijin jig head with a #8 hook...a Sow Bug and a Bison colored Trout Magnet..the MGX Revo Theta reel spooled up with about 70 yards of 2.3# test ester the rod just flat showed out. Casting is flat out superb with this rod. You could feel the "Thump" in your elbow it was so distinct. Then the blank behavior gave you all the fun you could want. About 2 dozen of the crappie were 10-10.5 inches. This rod is no doubt my favorite rod out of all the JDM rods I have purchased over the past 8 years. The Theta reel is performing great also...line lay and management with the ester is superb....rotation is very light....and the drag is smooth as silk. The Eradicator will certainly not be my last JDM Abu Garcia rod I will purchase and I am sure there may be some more MGX reels in my future. They have hit a homerun in my opinion with their new TAF Toray Nano blanks.
