This tailrace gets 28,000 trout each year for 7 miles of the river. Usually by the end of March you will be catching 12-14 inch fat fish. I suspect why I did not catch any bigger fish was they probably stocked at the bridge I was fishing at in the last day or two. By the end of July they will all die off. Sad thing is creel clerks show only about 7,000 of those 28,000 trout are harvested. I’m always catch and release on trout.....don’t care for the flavor.....but even if I enjoyed them I just no longer like to clean fish.....LOL.
