That’s a pig, those Green Carp are fun on the UL. Glad to see the TC handle her, but the drag on the Luvias is probably what saved the day.

I consider myself a competent pan fisherman, but I probably wouldn't have landed an 8+lb largemouth bass on my 7'3" Triple Cross spooled with 4lb fluorocarbon. You are an expert in my book..tremendous catch!!

thanks, alpha. another question, would a graphiteleader rod be good for vertical jigging, or is it better to cast and retrieve with bc I was looking at the Nouvo Corto prototype as well..

Very nice largemouth... I have been giving my triplecross a workout as well on the crappie... it has been a good rod for me so far... I have the 6’8” tubular and thinking about picking up the 7’3” as well...

I'm thinking of picking up the 6'8" Triplecross in a solid tip. My 7'3" is tubular tipped. I wonder if the solid tip would be a bit softer/weaker?

It will be softer in the tip. Solid tip rods.....while they look fragile.....are stronger than they look. The rod will fish different....but it is not weaker.

not wanting to start a war here but how do the JDM rods stack up against the G loomis brand? I have a number of GLX rods that were very pricey (in my world at least ) how do they add up to say an ice cube or banshee rod? It will be trash day soon so if I need to throw all these rods out and start over with buying new ones let me know quick ....LOL

Anybody here buy the Daiwa Presso XUl area trout rod that Platt had on 50% off today?
Bookmarked it this morning, had some breakfast and came back to find it not listed.
I guess when Randy said with the Japanese sale if you snooze you lose, he wasn't kidding.
