Not a good start start to the weekend. With impending bad weather headed this way I thought a quick trip to the creek before the rain arrived might yield some pre-frontal fishing action. A few small Gills pecked at my offerings and a couple were fooled and hooked. No pics as I had stowed my phone away in the tackle bag to stay dry. The rains came, not hard but enough to get me wet on the walk back to the truck. Then it happened! While taking my rod apart to put in the back seat of the truck the top section was kinda snug/stuck and when it suddenly separated I rammed the tip into the side of the truck and it SNAPPED! Gosh that made me sick. I have broken two rods in the last couple years, both due to operator error but this one....just Ugh. Going down this UL road I realize more caution/common sense is necessary and stuff is going to happen but man this one stinks. I have emailed Digitaka for possible replacement tops for purchase and our resident JDM guru for advice. Pic below, caution to fellow fisher- persons, not a pretty sight.
