Rev;;What part of the county you from? I'm in fayette county. Do you fish south towards Moundville or Eutaw, Greensboro. How about the tombigbee?

I have fished down at the boat yard in the past. I went one time in June. After you leave the ramp a little there is a creek to the left. I am not sure of the name of it, but it goes way back in there. The first time I went there I was bream fishing and we were catching crappie off of crickets. Have not had a chance to go back and try the crappie. If I would have had some minnows and my crappie gear we would have had fun. We still had fun catching the big blue gill and warmouth.. Good Luck and God Bless..
    Don't catch them all!! :D

I live near Live Oak Landing and still launch there. I've been fishing all around here since hurricane Ivan with little success. Places that always produced in the past now produces nothing. I've fished Miffin, Hastie, Dennis, and Briar lakes, I've went up bottle creek to Dominic and Alligator lakes and I've fished under the interstate bridge and caught very few fish. Been watching the bass tournaments at Live Oak and the numbers are way down and all of the fish are coming from down near the causeway. I stopped and talked to the conservation dept. one day that was shocking fish and they told me that they were getting very few fish in the places that I named above, however below the interstate bridge the further you went the better it got. I thought it was just me for a while but after talking to others it's not. My best suggestion is launch at Cliffs and go south and look out for me because that's what I'm going to do. Good Luck!

I too live in Southeast AL, finding it hard to get any intelligence about the fishing in the area. Looking forward to some good fishing weather.

Kent, There is a guy on here that post pics and reports a lot, and he is from south Alabama also. I think he mostly fishes the Alabama river on the south end down around Mobile. Right now I figure every thing still flooded from all the rain. I fish the Alabama river south of Montgomery. Its bad flooded right now. Just hoping the water gets right for the spawn

I fish the west side of the delta from you and I have been shut down do to the flood. You can do a search of my posts and see what I have been doing but I m far from an expert. I do know that during high water last winter fish were being caught over around Bay Minette but I've never fished over there. There's not many posters from this far south.

The fish around here, Wetumpka, Al, are from 5 to 15 ft, Depending on the current and water temp. I only use Jigs, dark colors in dingy water, chartruse or pearl/red in clear water. I am sure other colors will work but these are my most productive. I find at this time of year, the fish are usually staged at the entrance to a creek/cove/slough with access to deeper water. If wood is present your chances of a hookup increase. I use 6# line and weedless jigs, still get hung up but if you don't hang up you usually don't catch any fish. I am, "BY FAR", not a pro fisherman or fisher person, to be politically correct. I just get out there, wet a line, and pay attnetion to the conditions, presentation and depth when a fish is "caught". The Crappie, themselves, will tell you what to do/ how to present your lure or minnow. Enjoy yourself and take your family with you...............larry
I think you need to post more often. When I start to struggle fishing I really need to remember this. Thanks
