I live near Live Oak Landing and still launch there. I've been fishing all around here since hurricane Ivan with little success. Places that always produced in the past now produces nothing. I've fished Miffin, Hastie, Dennis, and Briar lakes, I've went up bottle creek to Dominic and Alligator lakes and I've fished under the interstate bridge and caught very few fish. Been watching the bass tournaments at Live Oak and the numbers are way down and all of the fish are coming from down near the causeway. I stopped and talked to the conservation dept. one day that was shocking fish and they told me that they were getting very few fish in the places that I named above, however below the interstate bridge the further you went the better it got. I thought it was just me for a while but after talking to others it's not. My best suggestion is launch at Cliffs and go south and look out for me because that's what I'm going to do. Good Luck!
I know that Goat Rock lake between Georgia and Alabama holds some slabs like that pic of Rev's, yessiree
I too live in Southeast AL, finding it hard to get any intelligence about the fishing in the area. Looking forward to some good fishing weather.
Kent, There is a guy on here that post pics and reports a lot, and he is from south Alabama also. I think he mostly fishes the Alabama river on the south end down around Mobile. Right now I figure every thing still flooded from all the rain. I fish the Alabama river south of Montgomery. Its bad flooded right now. Just hoping the water gets right for the spawn
I fish the west side of the delta from you and I have been shut down do to the flood. You can do a search of my posts and see what I have been doing but I m far from an expert. I do know that during high water last winter fish were being caught over around Bay Minette but I've never fished over there. There's not many posters from this far south.
