I agree. We can catch monster crappie in the winter on the Ohio River when they are in the shallow marinas. Once summer comes, they disappear somewhere out on the main river. Where? Who knows. We have never been able to find them.

On lakes however, it's not too hard to find them when you have a Garmin (or LR or Hbird) with gps and contour lines.

They are out in the middle of the lake on the humps. I'm telling you.

Gonna give it a shot first chance I get.
