We do some work on the boats and trailers for TVA. I’ve talked to their biologists several times and believe me, I fill their ears full about eelgrass. Here’s the deal though. It’s a native grass and has been in the river for ever. They said it use to be isolated to a few ledges upriver, above Scottsboro and a couple of ledges between Guntersville and Scottsboro and that it was isolated to growing very near the river channel and would not grow anywhere else, especially in backwater areas. Then something changed and it grows everywhere now. And as we all know it dang sure is everywhere. They have no idea what changed or why it started growing all over the place.
