You sound like I did when my son was two. Here's what I know now, since he's 16. I wish I had spent more time enjoying him at every age instead of wishing he was older so we could..... I don't mean that to come across harshly, just that he'll be grown before you blink. My son is almost an adult and it hurts my heart to know that he'll be moving on to start his life on his own in a few short years. I'd take a few more of those toddler years, or playing with the crickets in the cricket basket, or playing with stick swords, or, or, or, with him if I could get them back.
