Whew. Guys that install boat carpet for a living sure do earn their money. I got everything taken out of the boat today. Next I'm gonna strip the carpet, then repaint the gunwale, bow and stern. Then it's on to carpetting. I may have to hire an electrical engineer to hook all the gauges and switches back up. LOL

I'm thinking about extending the front deck back to the front of the console. Would be about 18" more deck. The only negative I can think of is that that will eliminate the little "cubby hole" where I can put my tackle bag.

Going back with a dark grey carpet. In full disclosure, the carpet under the front deck is NOT getting changed. Ain't no way I'll fit in that little hole....

Carpeting a boat is tedious work. The hardest part is getting the old glue off. Gonna look great when you get done, nice looking ride!

I would have been money ahead to do that. I'm gonna have over $350 in carpet and glue.

Thanks Prater. The old glue has deteriorated badly. The decks hardly have any left on them. The only real area that's gonna be tricky is the inside of the rod locker. I figure a scotchbrite pad on a side die grinder will eat it off quickly.

Worst case scenario, I'll sand blast it off.

I know what you mean about how hard of a job it is. I re done the carpet in my Ranger about 5 years ago and swore I would never do another one.
