Made it out down rigging for two hours before I headed in. Caught 10 all keepers, biggest went 1.6 nothing special. Ledges 18-25' most fish came at 22'. Going to shoot docks this evening, I love the challenge of finesse fishing with a 1/64 hand tied jig and two pound line in deep water, especially when I'm on slabs . Love setting the hook on a 2 plus pounder and having that little ultra light pole double over, game on.
Hope them slabs are in my honey hole, I 'll try to land those bid ones that broke me off yesterday. Putting a net in the boat when I head out.
Will take some pics of the color of jigs, and fish I catch this evening.
2016 Lowe st 175 merc 60 4 stroke, helix 9 si / helix 9, terrova us2 with link, drift master rod holders . I fish because the voices in my tackle box tell me to, and who am i to argue

I fish Logan Martin and can't find a good thread. I'm new to Crappie. Com.
You guys mind if I jump in here? I figure the waters are similar.
I'm fairly new to Crappie fishing. Just moved to the lake.
Fished the last 4 days and shot docks. Catching most fish in 16-22 feet over brush. Fishing 1/16 with Monkey Milk.
Low numbers but decent size. 11"- 15" on most fish. Out water temp has moved up to 54 as of yesterday.

Question: Is 1/16 to big to shoot docks?

No I use 1/16 most the time. You might try 1/23 to . I have use 1/8 in deeper water. Logan Martin has been tuff this year. Hang in there it will get better.

Welcome to c.c I'm just a beginner at it my self .but I read a lot where the guys in Texas shoot docks with 1/8th and 1/4th. Most their docks from what I read are 8-12 fow. That jig will be falling fast for sure though

1/16 is not too big. It will sink faster, if fish are aggressive will not make much of a difference. The lighter jigs just keep you in the strike zone longer.
