Slabprowler, A couple of other ideas to consider. 1. On my glass boat, I tried a home-made temporary mount (similar to the cabelas mount on my aluminum boat) to move my transducer in several locations before deciding where I really wanted to permanently mount my transducer. I do not have a jack plate to give motor/hull separation so I was worried about the motor interfering. For a side imaging system, you will use it mostly at speeds less than 6mph. At this point you can trim your motor up a bit if you are worried about motor side clearance. 2. I found mounting my transducer between the chine(s) worked better 3. Sometimes your transducer will pop up when running WOT. It helps to periodically check. If I find mine has popped up, I just push it back into place.
