IMO, they are doing you a favor by going by wide open, unless they completely drop all the way down to idle speed when they pass. The worst thing a boater can do when they pass another boat, (be it kayak, bass tracker, or ranger) is to slow down just enough to where they are barely on plane. Then they are somewhat plowing water and will send a bunch of big waves at you versus the couple of smaller ones being up on plane will create. JMO. By the way, I have been on both ends of this scenario.
