I will have to keep on the look out for a gator when I get out there.

Speaking of gators I was pittling around on lemon slough floating a few jugs Monday afternoon and spotted a 6 foot gator. I paddled from the slough up the feeder creek and this couple bank fishing was warning me about seeing the same gator. I told them I was more worried about cotton mouths than gators. AS SOON AS those words left my mouth a very very large carp leaped up out the water directly beside me knocking into my kayak.....I don't know if anyone has ever prayed sitting down and floating but I definatly took that time to do it. After I gathered my marbles I look over at the couple fishing and the woman is on the ground in tears laughing. I caught absolutely nothing after that! I guess my teeth was chattering too loud and spooked the fish.
Don't feel bad, I've spooked large Carp in shallow water for years. They've drowned me in water or banged into my kayak hard enough to flip it many times. I've never gotten use to it, heart attack every time, LOL!![]()
That may make me rethink putting out some noodles for catfish while I am fishing for crappie.
Yep, I think he gets to keep that one, LOL!
Alligators are ornery because they got all them teeth and no toothbrush
Lilly has been drained, down at least 2 and half feet from a week ago a yak can go up it,but its very swift from the launch site till about half way up the canal. For some reason they have lowered it the earliest we can remember
Up until this year we had never seen a cotton mouth out of all the water snakes we have encountered or if we had it was too small to be noticed but last week we ran into the mother of all cotton mouths , I'm guessing it was a she ready to let her little ones out but had to be at least over 5 ft and much bigger in circumference than my arm .She went across in front of us about half way up to the swamp and we gave her the big right of way. Yesterday we ran into her mate we guess only about 4 ft . Lets just say he wasn't happy with us ............as to the fish we caught 1 crappie but a ton of blue gills from bigger than the hand down to 2 fingers HA The females are ready just waiting on the 70 plus water temp. We kept 30 fat bulls .
