1.5 - 1.8 good for me

If you're catching fish I would imagine that you got the speed about right. Just my opinion.
I just use my motor instead of trolling motor. I tried anywhere from 1.5-2.2 according if I was going with the wind or against. Didn't seem to matter the day I was there. Like I said when the graph would show a ton of bait fish we works start catching them. The place I was fishing was Cedar Creek reservoir close to Russellville
I've always heard about the bass fishing in that lake, glad to hear some good crappie are there too.
Went this morning to cedar creek and did pretty good, ended up with 20 nice crappie. This was our best trip so far with crank baits over half was 12" nice ones. Had to release dozen or so 8" crappie. They were hitting anything white or with chartreuse stripe.
Thanks for help with mph, I forgot to put with my update I ran with trolling 1.4-1.8, then motor 1.9-2.1.....Had success with all speeds.
Man thats a good day fishing. Hopefully I will be able to get back again before too long. Good report
Yesterday was another nice day, got to take my 9 year old grandson and we had a blast. Caught 19 nice slabs and poor little fellow had 4 big crappie get off right at the boat. He also landed a few nice bass. Priceless day!
Solid white with red hooks!
Catching any of those spotted bass with the cranks? I can only imagine how much fun some of those spots would be on a trolling rig, but then again some of my biggest tangles come as a result of a bass getting in the lines! lol
