Well, finally got lucky and got a day off work. Went to cedar to try my luck at pulling cranks. Ended up having 8 keepers, 7 shorts, 10 bass, 5# cat and a bunch of stripe. Was a successful day for me, was my first time actually catching a decent amount of fish. Caught them on the edge of creek channels in about 30ft of water, cranks were anywhere from 60ft to 150ft behind the boat. Didn't really seem to matter how far back no depth was better than the other to me. When the shad balls would cover the screen we would catch something. Best colors were Sardis shad and solid pink.
Glad you got a chance to go .good report glad you caught some fish.
Glad you had a good day. What cranks were you using? Bandits? Arkies? Thanks
Thanks, it was a nice change catching some crappie during the hotter months. Was using Bandit 300 cranks.
You did good, glad you got to go.

Also while trolling I heard a big splash, turned around and a big doe had jumped into the water. Soon after I seen 2 more splashes one was a German Shepard and the other was a black lab. Not your typical deer dogs. The deer was long gone by the time they swam across the lake.![]()
Great report....love the deer pic
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Good deal, glad you got a chance to get out after them, sounds like a very productive trip.
Glad to hear that you got on them. Seeing the doe was a plus. Hate it was being chased by dogs. Irresistible dog owners really make me mad.
Thanks for the report, been venturing down to cedar since July doing pretty good on crappie since this is my first year in the water over 11 years and first time catching crappie in the summer. If you don't mind I have a hard time with my speed. What seems to be the best speed for pulling crank baits?
thanks
