Went to Weiss last Sat. spider rigged the river channel 18 to 20 fow caught 12 with 8 keepers and a ton of catfish. all crappie caught on brush. fished from 6:00am to 10:30. had to work hard for the fish. Might try night time next time. anybody fishing.
When nothing is going right, Just go fishing.

A little warm up for the 6th?

Fished Weiss back in 1987 in late August with two buddies., we wore the crappie out fishing the main river channel 12 to 15 feet under the power lines drifting.We wound up catching 168 crappie in 2 days and maybe fished 6 hours each day.I bet we threw back 50+ keepers and a lot of dinks.

PW1, Not really just wanted to go. Wife is out of town so I can do what I want for a few days,. Fishing is real tough right now.
Fished from 6:00-1:00 and only managed to catch 7. Only 6 of the 7 were legal keepers. Missed about 15 other bites because they were biting light and fast. I am thinking about postponing the tournament scheduled for the 6th. because of the heat. It is tough out there right now and hard to keep what few fish I catch alive all day.

I would second that emotion. if the temps stay up like they are now, it will be tough conditions to catch and keep alive. I trust you wisdom on the matter.
