    Default Frog Gigging

Anyone ever do this? I've always wanted to because I love fried frog legs but have never been. I bought a few giggs and have a net also, spotlight, head lamp, my brothers flat bottom boat, pretty much everything I would think I'd need. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. I dont have access to any ponds so can this be done on the lakes around here? What time of year is best? Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can give.

I don't know about Alabama, but around here (Arkansas) most people just drive gravel roads spotlighting the ditches. Sometimes they're not in the water, but up the bank a ways in the grass. You will need something to keep them in that they can't jump out of. Don't forget bug spray. And watch out for snakes.

It can be done on Guntersville you just have to listen to the frogs when they croak and kinda zero in on where he is at,take your light and shine around till you see thr reflection of his eyes.Move up while keeping the light on his eyes till you can stick him with the gig,but be careful that it is a frog and not a snake

Yeah I will be walking on water if I gigg a snake lol. Would shallow sloughs be the best for Guntersville?

It all depends on where the frogs are at and if you can get to them

Ponds creeks, heck watch Duck Dynasty, golf courses. Not sure how early they come out of hibernation. The bad part is if you have frogs you have snakes too.
