Started out water temp. was 57.3 and ended up at 60.4. Kept a limit with all being 11" and better. Everything under 11 " went back to live another day. Caught in 4-6 fow. The only colors I could get bit on were southern pro fire tiger and popsicle. Did catch 3 on Kalin's acid rain scrubs. Sorry for no pics, camera was in the truck with dead batteries. Watch out for the lurkers. Had a boat come in where I was and stopped about a hundred yards from where I was and just sat there. They sat there watching me catch fish for about 30 min. Then here they came in on me at about 50'away and started fishing. I was catching fish steadily for the next hour and they had none. The guy asked me what colors I was catching them on and I told him it was the color they wanted and that's all I said. They watched me catch fish all around them for a little bit longer and they finally left without catching anything. So a lesson to the lurkers on the water, don't think you can come in on somebody that's catching fish and do as well as they are.
droptine the bad thing is, sometimes they wont ask me they will throw over my line and jerk my bait up to see what I am using.
I'm glad to hear somebody is doing well out on G'ville. Do you know if anybody is having any luck on Town Creek over next to G'ville state park? That place is usually very good at this time of year long lining when the crappie are moving in.
I fished Town creek last Monday from 2ft to 19FT. We tried casting jigs in 2ft at brush pile and 17-19ft of water we longlined jigs. We fished about 3hrs and did not get a bite. The water was 54 degs and last year the creek was full of fish but I was not marking fish or bait so I guess that is fishing.
Yeah i had a lot of success over there last year from Jan - April....and i've been out there a few times this year and have had very little success. Not sure what gives?
I still havnt caught any shallower than 8 feet on logan martin. Keep expecting them to move in or at least move into the big flats but not yet.
