I am new to the forum, as far as posting goes. Last year I was going one day a week to Guntersville and doing very well. This year I have been a total of 3 times with limited luck. First trip was the first of November and I caught 13, second trip first of December and caught zero. Last time that I went was a few days after Christmas and I managed 3. Everyone that I talked to says about the same, so I have not went back.

I have done better with the deer hunting than crappie. 2 for 2. Went twice, got a doe and cow horn spike. Wish that crappie were cooperating like the deer.
Awesome. Wish i could say the same, but it is what it is.

LarryDavid I have been fishing for crappie for a little less time than you but still nearly 30 years myself. From the techniques I have learned over the years and experience I have gained relating it all to fishing I must say this crappie season has probably been my worst in history. I have only managed a few limits with 50 being my best day. Only one of my spots has held any fish to speak of. I also nearly lost boat and all in a wind storm and got banged off a bridge pretty hard. I think maybe by Feb they might turn on a little, but it has been a rough go for me..
This has been a very OFF year for me also. Last winter was much warmer than this year. I think that has made a big difference. The way the weather systems have come through here this past year seems to have thrown everything out of whack or something. Probably don't know what I'm talking about so I will shut up for now. Hope it gets better soon, I want some fresh fish to eat.
