Thanks for posting and taking us through the process. My mother and grandmother both made excellent biscuits. They formed theirs by a method called “in-the-well”. Years ago, when I decided that I was going to learn to make biscuits, I had better success using the method you described. I did cut my biscuits with an antique cup though, I guess it was for the nostalgic side of me. My mother passed in 2010 and it dawned on me that I haven’t made biscuits since then. My wife more often asks for cornbread with certain meals, so that she has some leftover to breakup in her buttermilk and eat like she did with her mother and grandmother.

This should work out well for those times that you want to get out the door quicker. Because of how our crazy schedules lead us, we actually do a lot of pre-cooking and prep ahead of time to freeze and just pull homemade food from the freezer to either reheat or to bake/cook at meal time to save time and still get the home-cooked meal. It must work, since people that we work with can't believe that we have home-cooked meals nightly and have to force ourselves to try a restaurant every once in a while in case someone asks for a recommendation. It's gotten stupidly expensive to eat out.
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.

Still using White Lily Flour but added 1 tsp Baking Powder to the 2 cups of Flour. A pinch of salt and enough Buttermilk to make a very sticky Biscuit Dough. Handling it was just like handling my Pizza Dough so it wasn't bad. After folding 12 times I rolled them out but cut only 5 with the same recipe. Man did they RISE!

Eating these two Biscuits was like eating 4 Pillsbury Buttermilk Grands. I knocked these out.
