I directed an ex client from my guiding days to Clear Lake 3 years ago. His party hired a local guide and had a great trip. He said all the crappie they caught were 15"er's.

Dinks!
Love to go but Fork is SO Much Closer!
I am one on here that this is my home lake and I have been somewhat discretely posting about the quality of these fish for years. Even right now though there are many fishing and getting small fish, or few fish and without forward facing sonar it's much more difficult to catch them right now in deeper water and schooled up in moving non-native state. Those fish I have been posting have been discovered too,and hundreds if not thousands have been removed from there and not a two pound fish in the bunch. I know that I posted about getting into the giants last year and that is ingrained in my mind. A little later when they start to come to shore is my favorite time. The limit here is 25 per day, 25 in possession and we have been trying to get this dropped to ten. Don't know what the answer is for resource management and I am concerned about it. 25 fish over 1.5 lb is a lot of fillets! All these fish will come in to spawn and they are mainly targeted by those who will take 25 home. I guess right now the resource can handle it and it may be beneficial to the size of the survivers, certainly wouldn't want to see a stunted overpopulation either. I am in the minority for sure though as far as targeting Crappie throughout the year here, most people who invest in a bass boat fish for bass almost exclusively and there again you have the few even among tournament anglers who are consistently catching giants in the 10-14# range!
