All I can give is my respect and thanks for all that y’all have done for us all. Was never in so I have no pics. God Bless every one of you.

I joined the Air Force to keep from getting drafted and sent to Nam.
Here I am less than 12 months later at Bien Hoa Air base in Nam, not all my plans worked out. It's been over 50 years, and I still get an uneasy feeling up my spine at the grand finally at fireworks displays.
Every time I watch a special on Viet Nam, I can't help but think President Johnson should have been held accountable for keeping us in that war, what a waste.
Most of us did what we had to do, not what we wanted to do. I'll stop now....

I grew up in a Marine Sargents house. My dad served during the Korean conflict. My son joined the marines after 2 years of college. He served his country for 5 years.
I still make my bed every morning just like I did since I can remember. Great Dad. Great Son.
Bon Temps!
My family has a proud military history, dating back to both sides of the civil war. My great-grandfather ( yes, that is correct) lost a leg at Gettysburg. My uncle died in Korea. My Dad never got over that. Dad served in the Air Force and I was born on Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas.
My brother was in the navy as were an uncle and cousin. Another cousin was a Marine who barely missed Vietnam.
I came out of high school in 1974. Any desire to serve was replaced by hatred of those who spit on GIs as they returned from Nam. I would have been in jail had I experienced that!
I don’t have many regrets in life but choosing to let Hippie trash direct me away from service was the biggest regret.
Ted and I talked about this. He got my Thanks and gratitude for his service and sacrifice.

When speaking of heroes on CDC I think it must include Rango. He was a big part of this site for years. I think a few members will remember him and the "beast"
