Thread: Slidell Slabs on Fire!

I was tasked with bringing fresh fish to the duck hunting camp for opening day next weekend, so I decided to make a quick meat haul since I dont have any frozen fish in the freezer. )Any excuse to make a fishing trip I guess.) Launched at daylight and was off the water for 1200. Sac A Lait were on fire today. I used my new KastKing BFS finesse ultra light bait casting combo spooled with 10lbs KastKing braid. I had a 1/8oz deathgrip jighead with a Zman shad fryz tied on. I slow rolled the swimbait around docks, points, and cuts. Fish were hungry and holding in about 6 to 8 ft of water. Sac A Lait were knocking slack in the line. Ended the day with 35 on the clicker. I only kept 22 and 3 blue cats. Figured that was enough meat for the post hunting trip cookout. My guess is this full moon and the upcoming cold front has them feeding heavily.
