NEWBIE Questions
Hey guys. Been lurking a while. Looking for some general advice. I live in Baton Rouge and as a new guy I was wondering if it would be a good idea for me to just pick a couple places to fish and learn those really well as opposed to bouncing all over based on the latest fishing report. Ideally no mare than an hour to an hour and a half from my house. I've fished the Amite, Henderson, Ramah and Manchac a coulple times. I'm not looking for any trophies or an ice chest full of fish. Just like to take the kids and/or wife out once a week and catch a couple fish (whatever's biting). I'd appreciate any tips you could offer. It's kind of overwhelming with all the options and different river levels to watch. I'd guess some places are more difficult to learn than others, so maybe there's some places that are more beginner friendly than others (I've heard Henderson can be difficult to learn). I have a 14 ft flat bottom aluminum boat with a 25 hp outboard, fyi. Thanks for any advice you could offer, hoping to run in to a few of you out there (figuratively).
