    I have two Maxxum 75, one is a select a speed 1-5, is newer
    The other is 75 variable speed. If I change out the rheostat can I convert the newer one to variable?

    It’s possible if the wiring inside the control head is compatible. Call MinnKota customer service or a reputable service center would be my advice.
