Default It's the most wonderful time of the year!

The crappie have moved into the shallows close to hone! All dark males. My turkey season starts this Saturday and it's not going to be difficult leaving the woods if the gobblers aren't willing to cooperate.

I'm going to break down today and order that fillet knife & blade you have Steelguy. This Sunday morning I'm planning to hit the lake we talked about at camp & see if they're up in the reeds.

The knife is working out well and this morning I managed enough for a meal from the lake we discussed Steelguy
The Mister Twister pirahna blade was waiting for me when I got home. Definitely my favorite over any of the Bubba blades. Really does a quick, clean job of removing the fillet and skin.

Dean, what's the review of that new net you ordered? Must be using it with the reports you've given

The new net is a Jenko. Very lightweight and easy to maneuver. Like all twist lock handle nets I've ever used it will turn but that's reduced as I learn and hasn't cost me a fish. With the net attached, which easily screws on & off, it is 12' from end to end (although I haven't used it fully extended) and weighs just 2lbs. The lightweight is great for one person handling a rod & netting. I'm looking forward to seeing how it does once hig trolling gets underway soon.
