If you're looking for a spinning reel for Spider Rigging ... I'd suggest Shimano IX1000r (usually sells for ~$15) or if you don't care for the "barrel" style handle grips or the quickfire "trigger" or a rear drag system ... then you might want to take a look at the Okuma Aria 1000 (usually sells for ~$20) which has the front drag, flattened paddle style handle grips, and no quickfire trigger. If you want some flexibility with jigging, spider rigging, and long line trolling, you definitely want a spinning reel or a small bait caster reel because the cheap jig pole reels are really line holders and aren’t great for winding up a bunch of line or even capable of making a short cast.

If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.

Hey thanks bud. I appreciate that. I’m looking forward to breaking them in. They should do me fine for spider rigging and just slow trolling pushing minnows.

I just have a question, out of curiosity .... what's the difference between Spider Rigging & "slow trolling pushing minnows" ??

I don't mean to be "picky", but in my mind Spider Rigging IS "slow trolling" (speeds are usually way less than 0.5mph) while "pushing" (trolling from the front of the boat, with rods pointing +/- forward) minnows (the normal bait used when Spider Rigging ... be they on a regular hook or tipping a jig).

When I think of "Pushing" (jigs or cranks) I think of boat speeds of 1-2mph & heavier weights (1-3oz) than the normal speed & sinker weights used for Spider Rigging (not to mention heavier action rods & Line Counter Reels for Pushing).

They’re the same I guess. I assumed spider rigging meant sitting stationary over a brush pile. Forgive my ignorance.
