Default final day I let the boys have the area to themselves

Getting to be that time of year so I dropped them off where we had been fishing and I had showed them where to fish but it was tough at times while went off to scout turkey areas hoping to find some active gobblers to bring one of my grandsons to and introduce him to hunting them. unfortunately went to 6 public places I can hunt and didn't hear anything. did see a few but they were way off the places I could hunt. Oh well, he's only 9 so I want to bring him when there are active toms.

Went back to where I had dropped off the guys and to my great happiness they had caught a bunch! both the primary areas where I had pointed out brush and were ketchn them myself they had success at. They attributed it to the "crappie magnet" not being there and that's partially true as I wasn't there to ketch any. IF we had stayed much longer I would have moved to a area where they in close and left them but they bymo caught a couple more while I was there and then said time to go back to cabin, warm up, clean up and head out. they were only there for hour and a half so ketchn 17 was darn good I thought.

I did toss in one time and caught that kitty Kat. But just glad that finally the prior evening and this morning they got into some fish. bymo cleaned fish while we cleaned house. Packaged all the many filets we had off 77 crappie as we split them up equally so a productive time was had by all of us and all had plenty to share with friends.

especially proud of my neighbor Ben 76 who has only fished a few times and didn't use the minnows this morning but did exactly like I did on the primary piece of brush and used chartruese/whatever 1/16th jig to ketch them. He's starting to get the hang of this crappie ketchn thing. Guess you can teach old dogs new tricks! bymo did go to the place where I had found several pieces of brush used straight minnows under 7 foot of line and a bobber and caught 11.

Nice report. Sounds very enjoyable. Hopefully the turkeys show up. It would be very cool to have your grandson hunt/see them with you.

you know how it is bill when your whacking them consistently and your buds can't ketch anything even when you put them right where you have been ketchn. so it's great to see the smiles when they finally "get it" and have success.
