Default Lake of the Ozarks Tournaments

According to the Missouri Water Patrol website I counted 684 Regatta Permits for Lake of the Ozarks in 2024. These are the permits issued for fishing tournaments. There were 165 permits in April and May during spawning periods. In June, July, and August when the water is hotter there were 248 permits. Anyone who has seen my posts knows how much I dislike tournaments and their negative effects on fisheries. This just proves how may tournaments LOZ recieves. From a conservation standpoint I do not see anything positive from tournaments especially 684 a year on a single lake.

Frankly I just don't understand the money behind them or why non participants give a hoot. You would think youtubers and CDC legends would make for better sponcees.

Some Regatta Permits are for other activities like boat races and fireworks shows; however the vast majority are fishing tournaments
