bought a chinchilla pelt a few years ago and I would have like the pelt a little thicker as it was hard to slice easily. As far as the two tone I tried to dye some tips once and while they came out good it was a waste of dye for the small amount I was doing. I have one Hairline pelt blue/purple that I got when they were easy to get.

I have cut 100s of pelts now. I made a jig to strech the pelts to make them tight and a cutter that cuts 15 strips at a time. Figured out how to change the blades easy which was a problem at first. Can get about 50 -60Ft of 1/8" strips per pelt. I have found that Canadian and UK rabbits are thicker. Tried adding die to the top and then ironing it in. Worked but didn't have time to make sure it was perinate. Hope to perfect it this summer.
