What I have been doing for years to satisfy those I encounter after a day of fishing and cleaning. I call it a day of success!
You can take rubbing alcohol (IPA) wash your hands with it. This does two things. Kills the smell and possibly any bacteria you have encountered. It will also get under your fingernails easily. Let set for a few seconds followed by soap. Smell gone that quick! Try to use a soap with moisturizer or follow with hand moisturizer. The alcohol will dry the natural oils out on your hands.
White vinegar will do the same thing but with less bacterial killing effect.
Been doing the rubbing alcohol all my life.
If you notice the beginning of this, my statement. That fish smell is the smell of a successful true fisherman! Although most that encounter you don’t understand that. But I guess good hygiene over rules great success in this case if you want to have friends and family around.
