fertilizing a lake discussion
I wanted to get some opinions and advice from the group.
First question, do you think fertilization has an effect on the bite? Especially our love on this site Crappie!
I do, for a few reasons and I want to know if y’all agree. I spent my career working in chemical industry. I know without a doubt if enough lime or fertilizer is added to water it’s going to affect the pH, the oxygen levels and the nutrient levels. I think that alone would disrupt a fishes feed patterns.
So how long would you guys think this would have an effect on the bite?
A week, weeks, or month or months?
I fish a lot and mainly river systems. But I will fish mainly the smaller state run lakes and public lakes from time to time when the river systems just aren’t right, mainly water levels.
I like this fishing site because of the accumulation of fishing knowledge it has for the young and even old times which I have quickly gotten to. I know my thoughts but would like yours as well. We can all learn something till we leave this earth. Tight lines to all!
