    Default Howling at the Moon!

Yahoo, I wanted to go out after dinner until dark. I fished around where I thought they might come to the shoreline, took me about 100 yards to get a take. Caught five more males in a short stretch. I slowed way down and proceeded to get the whole bag of Bobby Garland torn to pieces! The boat was in 9ft of water and the brush was grown up at 3ft of water. Out from that was dead tules standing kinda sparsely and almost all broken off below water level. The bottom here is small gravel like the stuff in aquariums. Schools of females would come in and out and when both sexes were there it was a tap,or a smash on every cast! sometimes they would smash it so hard that I couldn't keep up with the slack! I knew this condition was eminent, and that blew my mind. Attachment 501678Attachment 501676Attachment 501677Attachment 501680Attachment 501679Name: 20250310_183857.jpg

A bunch of the pictures slipped off again. The one shot shows what the spawning area looks like from above, underneath is a very different story!Attachment 501694Attachment 501695Attachment 501696Name: 20250310_183403.jpg

As winter ends it is great to see your catch and what a time you had. One of those magic moments!
