Default My Rod Building Adventures Coming Soon

In another thread I stated I was going to take the MudHole On-Line Rod Builders Seminar For Beginners. There is a bit of reasoning behind this. Now I have replaced guides on a few rods in the past, so I pretty well have that down. I have never done the reel seat nor grips, and I sure with the YouTube videos out there I could get the job done. But seeing's how the coarse comes with some tools and is the same price as just the tools, I figured why not. Who knows, Maybe I'll learn a different way of accomplishing something. All this and a second rod materials is said to arrive Thursday the 6th of March. I did order a power wrapper from GetBit outdoors, unfortunately, it's getting drop shipped from the manufacturer Baston in Sequin, Washington. Same makers of the ALPS power wrapper. As of now, today I haven't heard when it will ship. I called GetBit customer service today and Customer Service told me of the drop shipment.
I went to MudHole and their Power wrapper slightly better than this is out of stock still. Hopefully I'll hear something soon. Will post the builds as they happen, hopefully with lots of pictures.

Care package 1 of 3 was delivered today. They (UPS), mistakenly put the rod blanks on the wrong truck in Earth City, Mo. This box and the rod blanks made it to Earth City at same time, only the Rod Blanks went to Ohio and suppose to be here along with the Rod Wrapper before 7PM. Will be glad to have everything together...

Packages 2 and 3 came today. That is a relief for me. Bugs to no end when I order something and I'm waiting for it. Might be because I'm on a USPS training route for the mail carriers and have had things say they were delivered at/in the mail box that is impossible to fit in a cluster mailbox. It measured about 5" square. so It's always on my mind. I'll get some pictures posted up soon.

Ok, here's some picks of what came. The bits are for two separate rods. The one for class has a full grip and is a 7' medium light the other is a MHX5 1/2 ft 781 ultra light fast in white. It will have a Tennessee grip....I'll include pics of the Forecast power wrapper when I open it to set it up...
Better pictures will follow of everything out of plastic bags...

Slowly getting there. Here lately life really getting in the way. After a couple days working on the laundry room floor (not finished yet), They really needed a break. I wound up spending several hours waiting to renew my Drivers License today...Maybe I'll get the floor finished tomorrow, I hope.

This is what was in box #3. Can't wait to get a place to set up permanently...

This is the Forecast power wrapper. Forecast is produced by Baston, who also makes the Alps power wrapper. Now, it not only turns the rod blanks for wrapping, but can be used as a mini lathe for turning cork grips, as well as (may take a little figuring out on how-to) turning my own cork and wooden floats. Will have to work on the last bit...won't be long now, I hope. Gonna use the hand wrapper with the class in May....Name: 20250316_102455.jpg
